It all started with running at the fun run. I was such a couch potato before my 30s, even I was challenged myself with different sport disciplines. After entered of 5K races, the joy of accomplishment was surrounded me. It made me a disciplined sportsman with structural training. Then things started to get out of my hand. I talked about my experience with my friends and teammates, how enjoyable just a free-running feel. Little that I know, this positive attitude surrounded them…it was contagious! They were starting to run too, even some of them exceed their limits.

Leadership is not always about being in charge

We have all touching each other lives in a way. However, we are not seeing this exchange of knowledge as leadership at all. Can you call yourself a Leader? Even there is a clear answer in your mind, you couldn’t answer without hesitation. You may feel that you don’t deserve the title of Leader. And your expectation could be — in the future maybe this title could be given to you. We make leadership bigger than us, bigger and too meaningful that leaders should make a big impact.

One thing should be clear in our minds, Leadership is not managing people directly or indirectly. This is a Management. With all of Simon Sinek’s videos starting with why and golden circle ideas, Leadership is empowering and inspiring others, explain them the reason why.

Nowadays we are surrounded by many powerful leaders who have the valuable purpose to inspire people however it is difficult to ensure it without any failure. Therefore, to be leadership is an adventure in a perspective, I am saying adventure because you have to take lessons from your every failure. In this way, it gives you the self-confidence to try each time to improve your ability. This is essential to influence people and show them it is a simple reality of human beings. It gives the inspiration to try something new and improve themself without any losing fear. So, you may courage people with their strengths and give them the opportunity to do their best. This is a key for people to believe you with common consciousness. If you would like to be a leader sharing common sense, you have to be a trustful leader without manipulating their weakness.

Also, a good leader is able to adapt their style according to the situation and the people involved. There is a type of leadership that you can adapt yourself considering the situation. I have top three superpower tips that help me a lot in every situation when I am contributing to my team;

* Positive Attitude

If you want to be a leader of the future, you have to draw an optimistic picture for your followers. No one wants to come after a downbeat attitude for sure. I am not talking that you should be a daydreamer. Just remember and express, there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

* Appreciation

Celebration culture fosters respect and open-mindedness. These elements have created an environment that you can successfully be a leader. Also, Celebration Culture is one of the key team-building activities. That is why not only at the end of the job or project but there should also be some Celebration Milestones. Give credit to your teammates or stakeholders from time to time.

* Trying New Things

I love trying new things. Is there a new tool in the process? I would be the one to voluntarily try it. Even if there are lots of headaches like bugs or problems, getting off out of the track of routine is highly satisfying. This satisfaction embraces the whole team that it is up to you to encourage them as a leader. In the end, there is no meaning in doing the same thing and expecting better or different results, right?

All in all, leadership shouldn’t be seen always take the lead or create the path for your team. Even the journey that you are experienced may evoke feelings over them. Sometimes a little anecdote gives a light bulb that goes on in someone’s head.
